STORMWATER MANAGEMENT AND DESIGN – AN INTRODUCTION

This seminar will introduce some of the key elements of modern stormwater management and design. It is targeted at engineers with up to 5 years of experience or those who want a refresher after some time away from the stormwater field. While the workshop will consider stormwater management from an engineering perspective, it will be relevant for: council engineers, development engineers, consulting engineers, land development surveyors, planners, urban designers, landscape architects and project managers.

Urban Stormwater Management has changed over the past 30 years from being an engineering led drainage design activity to being a multi-disciplinary activity to achieve engineering, urban design, ecological, social as well as economic outcomes, all within a planning framework.

This introductory seminar will provide an overview of stormwater management and some practical applications of design associated with stormwater management, including highlighting some of the common traps practitioners fall into.
